The serverless paradigm can simplify the development of elastic cloud applications. However, the current practice of composing stateless functions, storage, and queues creates challenges regarding state management and synchronization. We demonstrate how the Azure Durable Functions programming model addresses this by providing reliable workflows, actors, and critical sections.
